Emerging Techniques

1. PRP

PRP stands for ‘Platelet Rich Plasma’ and it is one of the emerging techniques available for skin rejuvenation. PRP therapy uses ‘platelet-rich plasma’, (your own platelets and plasma taken from a small sample of your blood), to stimulate collagen and improve the skin’s texture and elasticity. Platelets are the “sticky glue” that stop bleeding when you hurt yourself. Their other job is to promote wound healing and repair by attracting growth cells. PRP treatment produces a rejuvenating and tightening effect on your skin, giving it a healthy, youthful glow.

approximately 60 mins.

Visible results:After 3-4 sessions.

Post care : Compared to Botox there usually is a more prolonged “downtime”. Swelling and redness of the treated areas is common and may be dramatic – eg. around the eyes, although only for 24 hours. Some bruising is also expected (this can be covered with make-up) and it may take 1-2 weeks to clear completely. Results can be maintained with a single repeat treatment every 6-12 months.

2.Fractionated Resurfacing : Ablative and non Ablative

These modalities have been introduced into the treatment spectrum in the past few years. They offer a better method of resurfacing while limiting downtime and complications like PIH.

However, the choice of treatment modality is what is crucial to achieve the desired result with minimum morbidity and this discerning eye is the USP of our dermatologist Dr. Anju Methil.

“One key does not fit all locks” is a guiding principle at our clinic, where the emphasis is on customised treatment and improved result.
